This year again, Yamasho brings you plenty of good fortune withYamasho’s specially selected ehomaki!

In 2025, pick-up is on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2): the day itself and the day before.

*Please note that the Main Restaurant offers pick-up on February 1 only.

Now, this year’s Setsubun is Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Most years Setsubun feels like February 3, but this year is a little different.

Why February 2?

The date of Setsubun changes because it follows a calendar based on the sun’s position, called the"24 solar terms".

Setsubun originally means the day before Risshun (the start of spring), so when the date of Risshun changes, Setsubun changes too.
"24 solar terms" are a calendar based on the sun’s movement, dividing the year into 24 terms.

In 2025, Risshun falls on February 3, so the day before, February 2, is Setsubun.

Risshun marks the boundary between winter and spring and is an important day celebrating the start of a new season; ehomaki is eaten on the day before it.

When eating ehomaki, the custom is to face that year’s lucky direction and eat it all in one go, in silence.

The 2025 lucky direction is west-southwest

The lucky direction for 2025 is "west-southwest".
When eating ehomaki, face just slightly toward the west of southwest.

It is said that eating ehomaki in silence on Setsubun, facing that year’s (2025) lucky direction (west-southwest), brings good fortune.
This year again, let’s enjoy ehomaki with our wishes, like so many people do.

At Yamasho, we value the traditional elements of ehomaki while adding our own original arrangement.

We want you to enjoy a special sushi roll on Setsubun, with luxurious ingredients and a beautiful appearance,
and above all, we offer it with confidence in its one-of-a-kind flavor.

If you have not yet tried Yamasho ehomaki, please try one this Setsubun.
